A stone’s throw from Saco Island!
You might have noticed that this place is ALWAYS busy —- good sign!
Living on Saco Island has its advantages, especially as the area’s dining options continue to attract regional attention. You may have noticed that the new restaurant just across the river, Magnus on Water, has been jammed since the day it opened, a great testament to its dazzling fare. The establishment has already caught the attention of a Boston online magazine, Eater Boston. Here’s what they’ve written recently about this great new addition to our neighborhood.
“As one of the newest places that is helping ensure Biddeford isn’t known just for the famous (and delicious) Palace Diner, Magnus on Water is a great reason to extend your day trip to this town into the evening. First and foremost, Magnus on Water vibes like a cocktail bar, but don’t overlook the food that is a thoughtful complement to the drinks. Shareable snacks and larger dishes can easily help make a quick cocktail stop turn into spending your whole evening dining here.”
Eater Maine then followed up by naming Magnus the second hottest restaurant in Maine right now.
“After undergoing the ambitious renovation of a gift shop and the adjacent public park, this Biddeford cocktail bar opened to crowds in late January. Former Elda bartender Brian Catapang and general manager Brittany Saliwanchik, along with partners Julia Russell and Carmen Harris, serve up original cocktails and a small plates menu. Early standouts include the green juice-like Padawan cocktail, the crispy sweet potato, peanut, cilantro dish, and the chocolate cake topped with whipped dulce de leche. Come summer, outdoor seating in the adjourning park will more than double the restaurant’s capacity.”
Give Magnus on Water a try, and support the amazing revitalization of downtown Biddeford-Saco!
